Meet Dr. Morgan Harris
Hi! I’m Dr. Morgan and I am passionate about chiropractic care specifically for mothers
and babies. I have loved and benefited from chiropractic care my whole life and known
firsthand how beneficial it is for growth and development. My grandfather was my chiropractor
throughout my childhood and instilled in me his passion for community and patient care even
as he aided my own development through his adjustments.
Because of this, I have always gotten joy from helping people and contributing to a
community. When, in high school, I fell in love with physics and considered being and engineer,
I realized that I would miss the direct contact with the people that would be effected by the
work. Then I realized that being a chiropractor would allow me to help individuals directly as
well as use the knowledge of how things move and work together that had fascinated me about
physics. Because really the body is a marvel of engineering and as a chiropractor I get to help
that marvel function optimally. I became fascinated by biomechanics or the movement of the
body. At the center of that movement is the spine and if the spine is aligned and functioning
properly the rest of the body can too. If I can help a person’s body function at its best, then I
can help give that person the tools to live their best life. My research into neck biomechanics
showed that how a person’s head sits on their neck can affect their likelihood to have a
concussion, and how their head sits on their neck is directly related to their development in
infancy and childhood. This is how I came to specialize in pediatric chiropractic. Better
performance for athletes, and in fact, everyone stems directly from how they develop, from
birth as they are learning how to hold their head and use their bodies. I knew that this is whereI wanted to focus my practice.
Why fix a problem later that could be prevented from the beginning. Proper spinal development can enable a child to use their bodies throughout their lives in the most holistic way so that their bodies can do whatever they are asked to do. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College. I started working toward my specialization in pregnancy and pediatrics in my final year of school and after graduation through the ICPA. Upon completing that coursework I moved to Boston, MA were I perused advanced training in Craniopathy.
Craniopathy is a specialized area that specifically works with the bones of the skull supporting
specialized movements such as sucking, chewing, and freeing the nerves that are linked to each
of our senses. After living in Boston for 3 years I was called to join the Vital Family and am
excited to be working along my favorite classmate and friend, Dr. Whitley, and serving the
Houston/Heights area. I look forward to working with you and your family to meet your health
goals. It is never too late to establish good mechanics, so no matter what stage of development
you or your child are in, I can help you improve your movement and feel great in your bodies.
When I’m not in the clinic you can find me anywhere there is water or a pickup game, be
it basketball, softball or kickball. I love kayaking, hiking, skiing and fishing with family and
friends. My family, especially my wife and our three fur babies are my constant companions
and support and help me live my best life. We enjoy cooking great food with friends and
watching college football and rooting for the Boston Red Socks (my wife roots for the Astros). I
can’t wait to get to know you and your family!
